"What is Life? The Movie " explores the big questions in life for which there are no clear answers ; Is there a God? What is the nature of the soul? How does one attain meaning in one's life? Why is there evil? Is there destiny? Dr. Weiner, who serves as the host, tackles these questions with a mixture of philosophy and humor.
"What is Life? - The Movie" interviews over 35 different people. Filmed over a four year period in the United States, Israel, Brazil, Japan, China, Hungary, Vietnam, Korea and the Czech Republic ; the film provides fascinating answers by religious figures, philosophers, physicists and other experts, interspersed with equally thoughtful and often hilarious responses from ordinary people of all ages and cultures. Often, some of the most thoughtful and provocative answers come from non-experts.

Howard L. Weiner, MD is the Robert L. Kroc Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Partners MS Center and co-Director of the Center for Neurologic Diseases at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Dr. Weiner is the author of "Curing MS: How Science Is Solving the Mysteries of Multiple Sclerosis" and "The Children's Ward" ( a novel ). He studied philosophy at Dartmouth College.
